The Life of REX JUNIOR GREEN

Rex Green resided in Saylorville, Iowa and was called home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2009. He was born in Zion, Iowa on November 17, 1929. Rex retired from Super Valu Stores, Inc. in 1991 after 41 years of service. He was a member of Heartland Open Bible Church and Auburn Union Park Masonic Lodge. Rex loved trucks, tractors and cuddling babies. He left behind his wife, LaVina Green; three sons, Edward (Steph), Rodney (Nancy), Dennis (Barb); step-son, Randy (Teresa) Jones; three sisters, Jo Whiffen, Patti Bryant and Pam Ernest; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Doris Mae Green who was called home in 1996 and a step-daughter, Rhonda Waddell; several sisters and one brother. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Open Bible Church or The American Heart Association.
