The Life of LAWRENCE DELL SARGENT
Larry, age 74, died Sunday at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born May 21, 1937 in Des Moines, IA to Ray and Dorothy Taylor Sargent. Larry graduated from high school and married Carol Murra on December 6, 1958. He was employed as a sales representative for Van Wyk Freight Lines and retired in 2000. Larry was in the Navy Reserve and was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill and a sister, Dorene Olson. Larry is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Deb (Rich) Davidson; sons, Eric (Margaret), and Kevin Sargent; grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Davidson, Bryan Cavalieri, Miranda, Vincent, Heather and Caleb Sargent.
Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Services: A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines
Visitation: A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 at the funeral home
