The Life of MARILYN LOUISE HUTCHINSON

Mary Hutchinson, 70, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Sanborn Chapel at the Madrid Home in Madrid. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Fairview Cemetery near Madrid. Mary Lou Greinert Hutchinson was born on March 27, 1939 at Whittemore, Iowa to Louis and Bertha Vaudt Greinert. She was baptized on April 16, 1939 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Pastor Walter Discher. Mary attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and was confirmed March 29, 1953 by Pastor Paul Weinhold. Her memory verse was Matthew 6:33. Mary graduated from the Whittemore High School in 1957 and then graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1961 with a B.A. (she later received her M.A. from the West Virginia University). Mary taught elementary school in Akron, Ohio and later in Florida. She married Emanuel Grant "Bud" Hutchinson, III on June 23, 1962 in Florida. The couple was blessed with a son, James Grant Hutchinson in 1963. After moving to Morgantown, West Virginia, Mary taught at several schools in Monongalia County, West Virginia for 32 years and retired in 1998. Mary moved to Madrid in June of 2006 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and reading and most of all her friends in the Garden Court apartments. Mary is survived by her sisters, Naomi (Gene) Maahs of Adel and Judy (Joe) Kollasch of Whittemore; her aunts, Clara Butler of Blue Earth, Minnesota and Ella Vaudt of Foley, Minnesota; her sister-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Shaw of Twinsburg, Ohio; ten nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madrid Home. >>
