The Life of GILBERT F BLACK
Gilbert F. Black, 76, passed away peacefully July 6, 2007 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born May 30, 1931 to Ada and Orville Black.
He was united in marriage to Velma Cline and to this union two daughters were born.
Gilbert retired from Massey Ferguson. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 374.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Velma; his daughters, Pamela (Russell) Morine and Cynthia (Charles) Blakley, 4 grandchildren; Laurie (Shannon), Stacy (Ryan), Rustina (Jason) and Michael (Kate), 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Donna Ritchey and brothers, Orville (Pat) and Ronald(Elaine). He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Floria Stamper.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at Hamilton''s Altoona Funeral Home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a bench at the Iowa State Fair Grounds in loving memory of Gilbert.
