The Life of SHARON KAY WEST
Sharon K. West, 72, passed away on Saturday June 25, 2011. Sharon was born on June 22, 1939 to Raymond and Gladys Ruemper.
Sharon is survived by her sons Paul Jr. (Luann) and Tim (Jana); daughter Kristen (Jeffrey) Robinson; 3 grandsons, and 3 granddaughters. She also leaves behind one sister, Marcia Harris and one cousin Bill Bindeman.
Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Paul Sr., her parents, two aunts, and two uncles.
After graduating from North High School, Sharon attended DMACC and worked for Lutheran Hospital for 34 years as a diet clerk. She attended Highland Park Presbyterian Church since birth and became a member when she was 9. The most important things in her life were her faith, husband, children, and grandchildren. Her interests were in the beauty of God’s creation, animals, books and music.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday June 30, 2011 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 321 Euclid Avenue, Des Moines. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church or Hope Ministries in loving memory of Sharon.
