The Life of ROBERT W LEPLEY

Robert Lepley, 86, passed away December 25, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House.

Robert was born September 4, 1923 in Tulare, SD.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Bronze and Combat Infantry Medals of Honor. He then went on to serve in the Air Force Reserves for 23 years.

Robert lived in Des Moines since 1953 and worked as a funeral director for Hamilton''s Funeral Home, retiring after 35 years of service. Following retirement, he worked for Pioneer Hybrid for another 20 years. Robert enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.

Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Lepley of Des Moines; sons, Michael (Jane) Lepley of Urbandale and Robert (Angie) Lepley of Melcher Dallas; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amanda the Panda.
