The Life of GWYLIM WILLIAMS Jr.

Gwylim “Bud” Williams, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 11, 1932, in Dallas, Iowa to Nellie and Gwylim Williams, Sr. Bud retired from Western International (AMF) after 34 years of service in inventory control and served in the National Guard from 1948 to 1957. He was a pastor for over 30 years at various congregations including Des Moines Restoration Branch (RLDS). He enjoyed a variety of activities such as woodworking, motorcycles, and cooking. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat Williams; children, Julie (George Foertsch) Bates, Linda (Jerry) Taylor, and Gwylim “Bill” Williams III (Diane Smith); eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2010, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, before the service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions will be received by the family.
