The Life of LEONARD ALTON CROSS

Leonard A. Cross, 63 of 5676 Ne.E. 22nd St. died of a heart ailment Thursday at home, Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mel's Catholic Church; of which he was a member, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Cross was born in Berwick and lived in Des Moines most of  his life, retiring in 1987 as a pressman for Meredith Publishing C. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of All Saints Parish Council and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, a son, Joseph, and a brother, Arthur, both of Wichita, Kan. two daughters Virginia Friend of Des Moines and Lynda Cross-Benson of Derby, Kan; a sister, Florence Gustafson of Ankeny' and five grandchildren.
