The Life of ALAN JOHN SCHMACKER

Alan John Schmacker, 50, of Des Moines, passed away Thursday at home.  Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church.

"Old times remembered,
as a mother gives her all;
A time of healing,
sweet sound of your bird''s call.
Camping with Lisa,
an adventure yet to come;
the marriage of two,
finally joined into one.
Canoeing with your brother,
an unexpected swim,
Picked up by a houseboat;
two very wet young men.
Christmas at your sister''s,
good time was had by all,
She loved her "baby brother"
and longed to hear him call.
Thank you for your laughter,
your charm and your wit,
Times with you were special,
as you made sure of it.
You have left us behind
with full and grateful hearts,
You had to see your father
and now you are with Art."

Alan is survived by his wife, Lisa; his mother, Patricia; his brother Craig; and his sister, Diane Horn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broadlawns Foundation, PO Box 5008, Des Moines, IA  50306-5008.
