The Life of JEAN FRANCES GARTIN
Jean "Frances" Gartin, 61, of 1927 E. 28th St. died of cancer Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Gartin was born in Nebraska and had lived in Des Moines for 32 years. She was a licensed practical nurse at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and was a member of the nurse''s association.
Surviving are her husband, Dick; four sons, David Brown of Des Moines, Larry Gartin of Ankeny, Dana Brown of Loveland, CO and Dan Gartin of Largo, FL; three daughters, Sharon Shaw and Robin Brown, both of Des Moines, and Regina Jones of Afton; her mother, Frances Hite of Des Moines; a brother, Bud Menter of Hibbing, MN; two sisters, Jan Farnsworth of Des Moines and Ruth Tomsett of California; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
