The Life of MELVIN A DAVIS
Melvin A. Davis, 76, of 320 Autumn Park Drive, Ankeny, died of a liver disease Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born in Des Moines and moved to Ankeny a year ago. He retired as a truck driver for Gamble Robinson Co. and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine; a daughter, Nona Backous of Des Moines; a son, Denneth of Ankeny; two sisters, Evelyn Brightman of Bella Vista, AR, and Jane Murphy of Sun City, AZ; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
