The Life of ARTHUR GEORGE DAVIS

Arthur G. Davis, 83, of 3505 S.W. Twelfth Place died of pneumonia and arteriosclerosis Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Hospital after an illness of nine months.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Davis, who was born in Militus, W.Va., had lived in Des Moines since 1918.  He was a retired pest exterminator and an Army veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; a son, Melvin A. of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Brightman of Des Moines and Mrs. Jane Murphy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a half-sister, Mrs. Goldie Meyers of Reynolds, W. Va.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
