The Life of ROBERT EARL BEERY
Robert “Bob” Beery, 76, of Des Moines died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Taylor House in Des Moines from complications of diabetes. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM ,Tuesday, November 7, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home. Bob served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He worked for Firestone Tire Company in Des Moines, retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service. Bob was very proud of his family and accomplishments in his life. He enjoyed camping, traveling, reading and working on cars in his garage, especially his children’s vehicles. Bob is survived by his wife Bonnie Beery of Des Moines; children, David Beery of Johnston, Deb (Kenn) Stratton of Grimes, Diane (Lee) Reed of Grimes and Dennis Beery of Des Moines; Step-children, Robert (Janet) Beery of Des Moines, Gina (Randy) Filby of Cumming, GA and Judith (Alan) Beery of Bradenton, FL; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Max) Levine of Woodland, CA. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Lloyd Beery; brothers, Lloyd, Lyle, Paul David and Raymond; his first wife, Ramona Beery in 1993. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association.
