The Life of RYAN CARL TESDELL
Ryan Carl Tesdell, 32, died quietly at his home in Slidell, Louisiana on Saturday, November 12, 2005 after becoming ill due to complications related to Type I diabetes (which he developed at the age of 24). Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2005 at Hamilton''s on Westown Parkway, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ryan was born August 26, 1973 in Des Moines to Marci T. Simpson and Donald Steven Tesdell. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1991, and attended Northwest Missouri State. He loved the YMCA camp in Boone where he attended as a child, and where he became an active camp leader as a young adult. In September of 2003, Ryan moved to Slidell, Louisiana to live with his father, where he made many new friends. He loved people, had a warm spirit, and was a friend to everyone. He was a counselor to many and a good listener. He was loyal to those who called him friend.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Marci of West Des Moines; his father, Don of Slidell, Louisiana; his grandmother, Amy Twiss of Des Moines; his brother, Gary of Des Moines; his step-father, Lyle Simpson; his step-brother, Scott (Amy) Simpson and their children, Ashlan and Connor; his step-sister, Soni Simpson and her son, Braeden Stanley of Glen Ellyn, IL; his "sibling" Kirsten Helgeland of Denver, CO; his cousin Michelle (Ryan) Nielsen and their children Jordy Dae and Luke of Ankeny; his aunts, Shirley Beggs of Chandler, AZ and Cheryl Twiss of Pleasant Hill; his uncle, Duane Twiss, and his children, Hope Twiss, Skylar Rathbun, Shayni Miller and her daughter. Ryan is the love of many and will be sorely missed.
Ryan was preceded by his uncle, David Twiss and his grandparents, Earl Twiss and Homer and Mary Tesdell.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Hamilton''s 3601 Westown Pkwy., West Des Moines. A Ryan Tesdell Memorial Fund has been established at Iowa State Bank. Donations may be made at any bank location.
