The Life of RAYMOND G KERR

Raymond G. Kerr, 65, died August 13, 2003 at Kavanagh House on 56th  Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Memorial services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church.

Ray was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa, where he graduated from high school.  He worked for the Clinton Park Board before staring his own business, Ray Kerr Shops - Welding and Fabrication.  After he moved to Des Moines, he went to work for the Chicago Norwestern (later Union Pacific) Railroad as a scale work equipment inspector.  Ray was a member of Hope Lutherna Church and was a former Clinton volunteer fireman.  He enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Kerr of Des Moines; daughters, Tami Lampe of Clinton and Jeanne Skul of Dubuque; son, Raymond J. Kerr of Clinton; stepdaughter, Roxanne Wood of Indianola; stepson, Tad Costello of Johnston; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation with the family is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grandview Park Fuenral Home.  Memorials may be made to the John Stoddard Cancer Center, Kavanagh on 56th or Hope Lutheran Church.
