The Life of EDWIN FRED JOHNSON
Edwin Fred Johnson, 69, of 6685 N.E. 17th St., died of cancer Thursday at Veterans Administration Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Dahlstrom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson had lived in Des Moines all his life. He retired in 1977 as a truck driver with Crown Concerete. He had been a member of Highland Park Christian Church, Disabled American Veterans and Teamsters Local 90. He was a charter member of Boline-Manfredi Vetrans fo Foreign Wars Post 9662 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L.; six sons, Edwin Jr., William, James, Thomas, John and Steven, all of Des Moines; four daughters, Donna Reynolds of Webster Groves, Mo., Christine Baird, Mary Glick and Deanna Johnson, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Venner of Des Moines and Oscar of Cedar Rapids; and 18 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until noon today at the funeral home.
