The Life of DOUGLAS BRYAN UTTERSON

Douglas Bryan Utterson, 28, of Denver, CO, died there Saturday of a heart attack while playing football for the Denver Bulldogs, a semi-professional team.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady''s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mr. Utterson was born in Ankeny and moved to Colorado three years ago..  He was a warehouse manager at Design Technology in Denver and a member of the Catholic Church.  In addition to playing football in Denver, he had played for the former Des Moines Knights semi-professional football team.

Surviving are his parents, Kennth and Ada Utterson of Ankeny; two brothers, Ken Jr. of Valdez, Alaska, and Chad of Ankeny; a sister, Vickie Randolph of Denver; and his grandmothers, Eleanor Murphy and Delores Utterson, both of Des Moines.

The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where friends may also call from noon until service time Thursday.  A vigil service will be held there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.  Arrangements are being handled by Ankeny Funeral Home.
