The Life of CHARLES N BAKERINK

Charles N. "Red" Bakerink, 70, of 1130 Seneca Ave; died of cancer Thursday at home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Bakerink was born in Adair County and lived in Des Moines 40 years, retiring after 30 years as an employee for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a member of United Rubber Workers union. Surviving are his wife, Bernice; a son, Jim and a stepson, Gary Sullivan, both of Des Moines; two sisters, Helen  Reicharat of Denison and hazel Whitaker of Massena; seven granchildren; and seven great-granchildren
