The Life of GEORGE ELMER CUSHMAN

George Elmer Cushman, 78, of 1535 Mattern Ave. died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center of complications of an injury suffered from a fall.  Services will be at noon Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Cushman was born in Perry, and moved to Des Moines in 1938.  He had been an X-ray technician at Veterans Medical Center, was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge, Highland Park American Legion Post, Union Park United Methodist Church and American Federal Government Employees Union.

Among survivors are his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Betty Turner of Johnston and Jan de Regnier of Des Moines; a sister, Normadean Weyer of Perry; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Auburn Masonic Lodge or Highland Park American Legion Post.
