The Life of GILBERT HERMAN SCHNATHORST
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Funeral Home for Gilbert H. Schnathorst, 82, of 3936 11th St., who died Friday of a heart attack at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.
Born in Newton, Mr. Schnathorst lived in Des Moines 60 years and worked for Railway Express until retiring. He was also a member of Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three daughters, Gloria Welp of Haverhill, Janet Heckart of Des Moines and Julie Kay Hoggard of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sisters, Elsie Short of Hillsdale, Ill., and Helen Snyder of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
