The Life of TENNIS CARL CHILDERS
Services for Tennis Carl Childers, 66, of Norwalk, formerly of Des Moines, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John''s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Childers died of cancer Wednesday at Des Moines General Hospital.
Born in Winterset, Mr. Childers was a Des Moines resident 50 years before moving to Norwalk one year ago. A retired Deere & Co. employee, he was a member of St. John''s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; three daughters, Margaret Shepherd of Des Moines, Ruby Harryman of Cumming and Carla Childers of Norwalk; his mother, Elizabeth Garthoff of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
