The Life of RUTH GENEVIEVE COOK
Ruth Genevieve Cook, 81, of 3216 E. 24th St. died of a heart ailment Thursday at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A lifelong Des Moines resident, Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph E.; a son, Mark of Des Moines; four daughters, Carole Cook, Linda Mitchell and Marianne Passick, all of Des Moines, and Sharon Carlson of Chicago; two sisters, Gwendolyn Mullen of Waukee and Phyllis Bourne of San Diego; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines or Grandview Park Baptist Church.
