The Life of DOROTHY L ALLENDER
Dorothy L. Allender, 85, of Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines died of pneumonia Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. The body was cremated, and services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Allender was born in Ottumwa and had lived in Fairfield before moving to the Des Moines area 30 years ago. She was a retired clerk with the Iowa Reciprocity Board and had previously worked for the Fairfield Ledger 25 years. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a son, Max of Windsor Heights; two brothers, Edwin Emerson of Knoxville, and Max Emerson of Fairfield; a sister, Maxine Humphreys of Burlington; and a grandchild.
