The Life of RICHARD W MORRIS
Richard "Shorty" Morris, 71, of 420 SW Hackley Ave. died of a heart attack Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Southtown Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Morris was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He retired as a mechanic at Buck''s Auto Body and was a Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and a member of SouthRidge Mall Walkers.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Robert of Des Moines and Richard of Washington state; two daughters, Jeanene Vivier of Des Moines and Teresa Voumard of Indianola; his stepmother, Bernice Morris of Texas; three half-brothers, Chuck, Pat and Eddie, all of Texas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on the family from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
