The Life of SAVOLA CHRISTENE TAYLOR
Savola “Chris” Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully May 9, 2011, at home, surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Chris was born in Springdale, Arkansas, on July 13, 1929. She moved to Des Moines in 1947. She retired in 1994 from Action Warehouse.
Chris is survived by son, Van (Cindy) Taylor, Sr.; daughters, Vee Schillinger and Charlye (Bill) Hull; one brother and two sisters of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Taylor; son, Ron Taylor; brothers, Benny, Willard and Chuck Tillman; and son-in-law, Jeff Schillinger.
A special thank you to Lisa, Jim, and James Reimers, for all their help and support through all the years of Mom’s illness. Also, thank you to Iowa Home Health Care/Hospice for their support and care of Mom.
