The Life of LAWRENCE J THORSON
Larry Thorson, 85, died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street of a stroke. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Larry was born June 4, 1918 in Jewell. He was a Field Auditor for Iowa State Department of Inspection and Appeals. He had lived in Randall, Zearing and Ames before moving to Des Moines in 1970.
He is survived by his daughter, Joy Thorson of Des Moines; sister, Pearl Simpson of Clarion; cousin, Lavonne Huntley of Kanawha and several nieces and nephews. He was preced in death by his parents, Anna and Peter Thorson and four brothers, Dick, Irvin, Bob and Mel.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th Street.
