The Life of PETER JONATHAN CARLSON
The family of Peter "Pete" Jonathan Carlson, 33, is grieving but not without hope. The Bible is clear that we experience Jesus Christ''s grace by admitting our need for Him, seeking His forgiveness and believing that He died on the cross, was buried and rose again three days later for each one of us. We believe we evidenced this in Peter''s life. We are so incredibly thankful that we can trust God and have peace during this time of sorrow.
Pete was born in Waukegon, IL and spent his formative years in Ankeny, graduating high school from Des Moines Christian in 1988 and attended both Bethel college and ISU. He worked most recently at the Bulk Mail Center in West Des Moines and attended Lighthouse Community Church, a place where he found people who cared and loved him.
Pete is survived in death by his loving parents, Dale and Kathy Carlson of Des Moines; two supportive brothers, Andy and his wife, Eileen of Jackson, TN and Mark and his wife Rhonda of Round Lake, IL; a sister, Loree and her husband Andy of Des Moines; his favorite seven nephews and four nieces; and grandparents, Maurice and Catherine Carlson of Dearborn, MI, and Wayne Cameron of Hemet, CA. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Lorene Cameron and his very special niece, Brittany Carlson.
The closed casket visitation will be Wednesday, September 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 9 at Lighthouse Community Church, located on the south side of Southridge Mall in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions will be given to the Lighthouse Community Churches Celebrate Recovery Program.
