The Life of LOIS LORRAINE COX SMITH
L. Lorraine Smith, 76, of the 7000 block of Bloomfield Rd died of cancer Friday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Albia and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a retired medical assistant at Doctor''s Park and a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed painting and studying her family''s geneaology.
She is survived by a daughter, Tamara Schimke of Shorewood, MN; a stepson, Scott of Adel; a sister, Mildred Thede of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
