The Life of CATHERINE JEANETTE PETTY
Catherine J. Petty, 85, of 1334 Burlington Terrace died of a stroke Tuesday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. The body will be cremated following services and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Petty was a lifelong Des Moines resident. She retired as office manager of J.C. Penney and later worked for Drug Mart, and she was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Westminster Presbyterian Chruch.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Forst of Casa Grande, AZ, and Janet Fletcher, Mary Jean Petty and Martha Jane Petty, all of Des Moines; a sister, Helen Dashen of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Department for the Blind.
