The Life of RICHARD WILLIAM SHELTON

Richard William Shelton, 74, died of cancer June 18, 2003 at home.  Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Richard was born August 30, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa.  He retired from Cargill, Inc. in 1981 and was a member of Grant Park Christian Church.

HE is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlys; son, Richard A. Shelton of West Des Moines; duaghters, Sandi Murray and Dyan Hollingshead, both of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard, Jerry, David, Jimmy and Bob, all of Des Moines, and Carl of Yellsville, AK; and sisters, Betty Smith, Joy Owens and May Lou Leach, all of Des Moines and Norma Van Gorp of Harrodsburg, KY.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to InTrust Hospice Taylor House.
