The Life of CLAUDE C BETTIS

Claude C. Bettis, 66, of 731 E. Sheridan Ave. died of cancer Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Graveside services will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Bettis was born in Sewal and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was employed as a meat cutter at Iowa State University for the past 17 years and had worked 25 years for Dixon Master Market. He had been a member of Highland Park American Legion Post. No. 374 and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia; a son, Thomas Brent of Tehachapi, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Conn and Marcia J. Bettis of Des Moines; a sister, Wanda Burnett of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Merle Hay Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to his American Legion Post.
