The Life of PEARL KENNETH MCDONOUGH

Pearl Kenneth McDonough, 74, of 4108 SW 12th St., died of a heart attack Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. McDonough was born in Melrose and had lived in Ottumwa before moving to Des Moiens, where he lived 51 years.  He worked in construction as a carpenter.  He served in the US Navy during World War II.  He belonged to Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and the Carpenter''s Union.  He also received the Carnegie Hall Hero''s Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; two daughters, Donna Cline of Macon, MO, and Diana McDonough of Boseman, Montana; a son, Duane of Pittsburg, PA; a brother, Robert of Des Moines; four sisters, Maxine Lathrop of Peyton, CO, Mildred Kline of Ogden, Patty Humphrey of Albia, and Mary Miller of Eddyville; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family between 4 and 8 p.m. today at the fuenral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue Presbyterian Church.
