The Life of BERT WADE NEWTON
Services for Bert W. Newton, 76, of 3200 Mary Lynn Dr will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Open Bible. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Newton died of a heart ailment Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
A Des Moines native, Mr. Newton was a self-employed landscape contractor and a member of First Church of the Open Bible.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; four daughters, Vivian Feilmann and Gertrude Hartzer, both of Des Moines, Joyce Dethmers of Glenrock, NJ, and Judy Reichenbach of Rockford, IL; two sons, Ted of Elkader and John of Kent, CN; a stepson, Robert Kolk of Des Moines; a sister, Gladys Fallis of Des Moines; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Church of the Open Bible building fund.
Hamilton''s Funeral Home is in charge of service arrangements.
