The Life of JAMES C COFFEY
James C. (Jim) Coffey, 66, died Saturday, September 20 of pancreatic cancer at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 25 at All Saints Parish, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Jim was born in Des Moines, Iowa and served in the US Navy. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber after 30 years of service and was a member of National Association of Power Engineers (NAPE). Most recently, Jim worked for Carquest as a delivery driver.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, John Coffey of Naples, FL, and Bob Coffey of Des Moines; daughters, Sue Hearn, Sharon Lumley and Nancy Reel, all of Des Moines; sister, Kay Johnston of Des Moines; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, where a Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish or Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines.
