The Life of WALLACE A JOHNSON
Wallace A. Johnson, 77, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, died of a heart ailment Sunday at Holy Cross Hospital there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born in Buhl, MN and moved to Florida in 1980 after five years in Des Moines. He previously lived in Sumner 18 years. He was the retired owner of I.V. Cole Petroleum Co. in Des Moines and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Among survivors are his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Diana Johnson of Fort Lauderdale; three sons, Ted of New York, Steven of Des Moines and Tim of Iowa City; a sister, Doris Nelson of Worcester, MA; and two grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home.
