The Life of ASA DREW THOMPSON

Asa D Thompson, 88, of 3832 Easton Blvd died of pneumonia Sunday at Luther Park Health Care Center, 1555 Hull ave. where he had been a resident for two weeks. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funerla Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Rantoul, IL, and lived in Des Moines for 63 years. He was a retired mailer at the Des Moines Register and Tribune, was a member of The Des Moines Register 20-Year Club and attended Calvery Open Bible Church. Survivors include three sons, Harold and Dale, both of Des Moines, and Gary of Norwalk; a daughter, Shirley Sloan of Des Moines, two sisters, Grace Hamilton and Alice Waters, both of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Polk County Epileptic Association.
