The Life of FELIX VALLEJO

Felix Vellejo, 64, of 2126 Lay St. died of a heart ailment Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 am Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Vallejo was born in Horton, KS, and had lived in Des Moines since 1941. He was a former cab driver, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Peter's church. Surviving are his wife, Esther; four daughters, Alice Reeder of Las Vegas, NV, Tina Gum of Tucson, AZ, Patti Crouse of Grimes and Michelle Vallejo of Des Moines; a son, James of Aurora, CO; eight sisters, Helen Lopez of Kansas, Margaret Diaz of West Des Moines, Agnus Bernal of Des Moines, Josephine Knight of Minnesota, Florence Terronez and Benita Cacari, both of Illinois, and Dorothy Luke and Linda Patton, both of Florida; two brothers, Salvadore of Kansas and James of Missouri; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 pm today at Hamilton's Funeral Home where a vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.
