The Life of ARCHIE COOK Jr.

Archie Cook, 81, of Bondurant died of a heart ailment Thursday at home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Illes Grandview Park Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery there.

Mr. Cook was born in Ward and had lived in Albia before moving to Des Moines, where he had lived many years.  He moved to Bondurant six years ago.  He was a retired truck drive with J.O. White Co. and also had been a welder with Solar Aircraft.  During World War II, he served under General Patton as an Army tank driver.  He was a member of AmVets.

Surviving are a brother, John of Tampa, FL; and a sister, Margaret Culp of Des Moines.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to AmVets.
