The Life of JEAN ANN WYER

Jean Ann Wyer, 62, died November 2, 2006 after a courageous battle against lung cancer.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends.

She was born October 4, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Wanda Long. Jean was united in marriage to Bill Wyer on January 28, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa where they resided. Jean worked 38 years for the State of Iowa, the majority of the time at the Legislative Service Bureau. Jean was always the most positive person in the room and never knew a stranger. Her greatest love was her family, especially her granddaughters.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years Bill Wyer; son, Evan (Kris) Wyer; granddaughters Jordan, and Payton; sister, Penny Long; brother, Chuck (Mary) Long; nieces, Heather Long, Wendi Corley, and Nikki Bloedow; two great-nieces and two great-nephews; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Christopher Long.
