The Life of JERALD R THOMPSON

Jerald R. Thompson, 68, of 4325 E. 29th St. died of cancer Monday at home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born in Mount Ayr, where he lived until coming to Des Moines in 1929.  He retired in 1975 as an employee of REA Express Agency after 34 years.  He was a member of West Gate-Adelphic Masonic Lodge 509 and Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two daughters Patricia Hassel and JoAnn Hansen, both of Altoona; three brothers, Avol S., Robert M. and William H., all of Des Moines; a sister, Eileen Bennett of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or Altoona Christian Church.
