The Life of JESSE LAVERNE WEBB

LaVerne Webb, 89, of the 3900 block of Eighth Place died of a heart ailment Sunday at home.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Webb was born in Bucklin, MO, and had lived in Des Moines for most of her life.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed outdoor activities, cooking and sewing, especially for her daughters, Mary McCauley, now deceased, and Margaret.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Martin of Des Moines, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gardner.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
