The Life of MABLE L PONTIOUS
Mable L. Pontious, 84, of The Abby died of complications of a stroke there Friday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Care, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Pontious was born in Anita and had lived in Clinton before moving to Des Moines 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John''s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorene Pontious Mack of St. Louis and Nada Pontious Tyler of Des Moines; and three grandchildren. She wsa preceded in death by her husband, Walter Madison Pontious.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the fuenral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for research.
