The Life of RUDY LEROY NIRK

Services for Rudy LeRoy Nirk, 72, of 1350 Twenty-first St., will be at noon Thursday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Nirk, died of pulmonary emphysema Monday at Veterans Hospital. He was ill four years. Born in Boone, he was a Des Moines resident 50 years. Before his retirement six years ago, he was an inspector at the Armstrong Rubber Co. for 16 years. He was a past noble grand of Sherman Odd Fellows Lodge, was a member of United Rubber Workers Union and a World War I veteran. Surviving are his widow, Goldie; a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Bales of Des Moines; a son, LeRoy Nirk, with the Navy in San Diego, CA; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Des Moines; a stepson, Leslie Lamb of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Mrs. Elma Woodraskia of Aberdeen, SD, and Mrs. Zoe LeGrand of Houston, TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.>>
