The Life of CHESTER L BJAASTAD

Chester L. Bjaastad, 85, of 214 SE Eastlawn Dr., Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Sunday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, of which he was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Bjaastad was born in Hayfield, MN, and moved to Ankeny in 1952.  He retired as sales manager for Iowa Pipe & Tile Co., where he had worked 25 years, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Ankeny Planning and Zoning Commission.

Among survivors are a daughter, Katheryn Anderson of Atherton, CA; a son, Philip Schoeneman of Seattle; a sister, Bernice Nelson of Albert Lea, MN; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ankeny Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
