The Life of GAYLORD CHARLES HELM
Services for Gaylord Helm, 70, of 1446 Osceola Ave. will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Helm died of cancer Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Mr. Helm was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. A US Army veteran, he was a retired office supply store manager. Mr. Helm was a member of the Pioneer Masonic Lodge, the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; a stepson, Eugene Shiffer of Hurst, TX; his mother, Claudia Helm of Story City; two brothers, LeRoy of Des Moines and Lyle of Story City; three sisters, Irene Lincoln and Lorna Witter, both of Des Moines, and Bea Hawbaker of Ogden; and two grandchildren.
