The Life of GAYLEN ROBERT LEAR

Gaylen Robert Lear, 38, of the 2800 block of East 36th Street died of chemical poisoning Thursday at home.  His death has been ruled a suicide.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Lear had lived in Des Moines all his life.  He worked for Metro Waste Authroity and enjoyed doing yardwork and working with flowers.

Surviving are his wife, Melinda; two sons, Garrett and Gordon, and a daughter, Stacy, all at home; his mother, Arlene Lear of Des Moines; a sister, Kelly Phipps of Pleasantville; and two brothers, Randel Witt of Iowa Falls and Ronald Witt of Des Moines.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
