The Life of ALFRED E SMITH
Alfred E. Smith, 91, of the 1600 block of Des Moines Street died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton''''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery
Mr. Smith had lived in Des Moines all his life. He was a retired delivery driver with Tendercrust Pie Co. and had been a spotlight operator at KRNT Theater. He was a member of the Theatrical Union and Home Masonic Lodge 370.
He is survived by his wife, Lila "Peggy"; a daughter, Linda Sue Smith of Liberty, MO; a son, Alan David Smith of Johnston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Capitol Hill Church.
