The Life of RUBY E CHONGO
Ruby E. Chongo, 80, died March 24, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Chongo was born May 3, 1923 in St. Paul, MN. She lived in Des Moines for 80 years. She graduated from North High School. Mrs. Chongo worked as a clerical bookkeeper at Westown Auto for 10 years. Ruby was a member of the North High School Alumni Association class of 1942. She enjoyed crafts and making flower arrangements, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Chongo is survived by her husband, Joseph T. Chongo of Des Moines, her son, David Chongo of Ankeny, her daughters, Susan Grant and Peggy Nicholson both of Des Moines, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
