The Life of ELNORA FELICIA YORK ARNETT

Elnora Felicia York Arnett, 91, Sacramento, CA, died March 29, 2006.

She was born September 14, 1914, in Columbus, KS, the daughter of Walter and Grace York.  She graduated from Columbus High School.  Following graduation, she went to work as a statistician for the WPA program during WWII.

She married her pastor, Joseph W. Arnett, June 6, 1937.  Through the 62 years of marriage, she made her home in Des Moines, Iowa as well as Kansas, Montana, Missouri, Illinois and California.  Through the years, she traveled with her husband in evangelistic meetings throughout the US.

Survivors include four children, Mary Jo Pruitt and husband, Allen of Fort Scott, KS; Victor D. Arnett and wife, Barbara of Sacramento, CA; Rev. Arthur Arnett and wife, Connie of Des Moines, IA; Grace Phillips and husband, Wendell of Sacramento, CA; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lenz of Gila Bend, AZ; one brother, Frank Medsker of Fort Collins, CO; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Miller of Calumet City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; her parents; two sisters, Evelyn York, Columbus, KS, and Martha Green of Oregon; and two brothers, Raymond York and Carl York of Kansas.

Any memorial contributions may be sent to Pacific Garden Mission; 646 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60605-1860 in memory of Elnora F. Arnett.

A viewing will be held at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines IA, Friday, April 7, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Aurora Avenue Bible Church, 5 NW Aurora Avenue, Des Moiens, IA.  Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
