The Life of GERALD L DAWSON

Gerald Dawson, 61, of 6472 SE Sixth St. died of a brain tumor Sunday at home.  Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Cross, of which he was a member.  The body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research.

Mr. Dawson was born in Hanna, MO, and lived in the Runnells and Des Moines areas 53 years.  He worked for Williams Fastener and Supply and was a member of King David Masonic Lodge and Altoona Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Jodine; a son, Randy of Altoona; three daughters, Marsha Hershey of Runnells, Brenda Porter of Altoona and Chris Seymour of Martensdale; two brothers, Robert and Basil, both of Runnells; two sisters, Ellen Lane of Adel and Edna Hedlund of Victor; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Altoona Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or his church.
